Sky Oceans gets big update

The Bloodhounds watching you play the old version.

Listen up, crew! We’ve got news for you!

We are happy to announce that the latest patch is already available for the Steam and Switch versions of Sky Oceans.

Playstation 5 and Xbox Series patches will be ready soon, including the same fixes and improvements described below (yes, everything below is part of the changes introduced with this update.)

Thanks for your patience and support, dear pilots. We truly hope you enjoy this update :)

Gameplay:

  • Fix: Glenn clips into his bed when getting up during the attack on Blossom

  • Fix: Unable to find all 18 trash pirates in the Kiezel Fracture

  • Fix: Gulliven's opening line gets cut off too quickly when approaching Stalkista

  • Fix: Side quest marker can be seen on screen during scene approaching Stalkista

  • Fix: No side quest waymarker back to Dead Rock at the end of "The Brother and the Dreamer"

  • Fix: Lots of flickering when flying around Zabutyy Outpost in the overworld

  • Fix: Game judders when flying through the wind wall tunnels

  • Fix: Bucket's profile picture keeps disappearing in conversation after he joins the crew

Combat:

  • Fix: Enemy image incorrectly appeared as Vanessa during combat with an Alliance Airship

  • Fix: Enemy airship invisible when attacked by the Aerius Purge art

  • Fix: Camera struggles to stay focused on characters and enemies during multiple unique arts

  • Fix: Issue with enemies healing each other during combat

  • Fix: Entered combat just as was destroying an extractor in Yaatana led to a blocker

  • Fix: Early game the hit percentages for machine gun attacks are far too low

  • Fix: Allies and enemies often target incorrect characters during Yaatana

  • Fix: Multiple issues when using Zenith's Death From Above art

  • Fix: Enemies often get stuck in a loop of constant evading when on low health

Others:

  • Fix: No translation error in the in the combat section on the key bindings page

  • Fix: Mouse wheel too sensitive on the Key Bindings page

PC Only

Steam Deck:

  • Fix: Intro animation and story intro do not play

  • Fix: In game videos sometimes don't play properly on Steam Deck

NSW-specific

  • Fix: PC Keyboard UI always appears upon loading into a saved game (NSW)

  • Fix: Tapping A whilst loading into a cut scene will advance the dialogue and can lead to a blocker (NSW)

Combat:

  • fix: Combat results screen briefly flashes up every time you load into the overworld in the Nimbus

  • fix: Combat UI errors if we use the status button when we are selecting art, attack target or arsenal item

  • fix: If we use a healing item and an ally just dies, the item will be spent and we will have a member KO'd but his HP is not 0.

  • Change: Cinematic acceleration input now is a toggle

  • Add: Battle speed up tutorial

  • Add: asset FFWD/X2 in combat cinematic acceleration

  • Fix: When using the acceleration of the combat cinematic, when we attack a normal attack, only the first hit will be shown (we still hit 3 but only 1 is shown).

  • fix: Advantage does not work in Airships combat.

  • fix: Text description cut off for the Thunder-Proof item

  • fix: Issue seen with the Toxic Round art

  • fix: The coriander undead ship is not visible in exploration or combat.

  • Fix: Blank screen after spending a turn in Stone Forest

Exploration and overworld:

  • Change: Mica's ability lasts for a given time activated.

  • fix: Alibatros do not seem to detect the player in Grinding

  • fix: If from the Nimbus we go out to the OW, the speedometer looks black.

  • fix: Screenshot for the Hunting Grounds 2 is incorrect

Quests:

  • fix: Lizardhawk Breast not dropped on grinding 3

  • fix: Text gets cut off after completing a side quest

  • fix: Failing any of the first Nexus trials will restart you back in the Nimbus outside the Nexus

Management:

  • fix: No way to remove the custom map marker when viewing the map
